KPCC Bulks Up on Immigration Coverage

FishbowlLA has learned that KPCC has just hired Ruxandra Guidi to cover immigration and emerging communities in Los Angeles. She’ll be reporting for Morning Edition and All Things Considered as well as for the station’s talk shows. Guidi tells FishbowlLA she’ll start her new gig February 6th.

“I’ll be working alongside Leslie Berenstein Rojas of the Multi-American NPR blog and Oscar Garza,” she says.

Guidi comes to LA from San Diego, where she covered border issues for KPBS’s “Fronteras.”

Meanwhile, Adrian Florido, who was among three journos recently laid off from Voice of San Diego, has apparently rebounded quickly. He tweets that he’s been hired to fill Guidi’s spot as a KPBS Fronteras reporter.

Congrats to both!
