KFWB Placed in a Trust, Names New GM
Valerie Blackburn was named the new general manager of KFWB 980 AM following the transfer Monday from CBS Radio to the KFWB Asset Trust and the KFWB License Trust.
Bill Clark and Clark Radio, LLC is the trustee and Shooting Star Broadcasting CEO Diane Sutter will oversee the license on behalf of the trust.
This move comes nine years after CBS purchased KCAL-9 and needed to move the radio station out of the cluster.
“This is an incredible opportunity as KFWB continues to show growth,” Blackburn said in a release.
