Is OK! Getting Snarkier?

OK! appears to have grown subtly snarkier, affirmative title notwithstanding. Since the Britney photo shoot meltdown, the celebrity-friendly magazine seems to be moving along the gravitational axis of US Weekly, In Touch and Life & Style. That might not be such a bad orbit to follow considering that all three weeklies rose five to 10 percent in the latest numbers compiled by the Audit Bureau of Circulations. The again, the tried and true OK! formula didn’t hurt either. From Keith Kelly‘s Media Ink:

OK! — which raised its cover price in January — reported strong total circulation and newsstand gains, with paid and verified circulation rising 54 percent to 809,411.

Kelly notes, however, that despite the circulation jump, OK! failed to meet the base rate of 850,000 that they promised advertisers. Perhaps this newfound trending against all things Britney will help OK! exceed their rate base for 2007.
