Inc. Magazine Staff Worked From Home for April Issue

Who needs an office? Not the editorial staff of Inc. Magazine, who created the upcoming April issue while working from home.

A piece in Sunday’s New York Times details Inc. editor Jane Berentson’s decision to go all objective-correlative for the new issue. Inc.‘s April cover story, “The Office Is Dead. Long Live the Office,” contains personal anecdotes from senior writer Max Chafkin about the experience of working from home.

The staff communicated via “readily available technology, including Skype and instant messaging,” the Times reports. The month-long experiment went well, although Chafkin said staying at home all the time made him sad.

In the free-wheeling spirit of Inc., we propose that bloggers try a similar stunt: Actually show up at the office for a day.
