Hearst And Lagardere Keep Mum On Rumored Elle Deal
WWD is reporting this morning that the rumored deal between Hearst and Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S.’ parent company, Lagardere, is still shrouded in secrecy. The consensus seems to be that, if it all works out, Hearst would be granted a controlling stake in Elle and other U.S. Hachette titles.
There is, however, something of a deadline in place: Lagardere is set to present its first-half results to investors on August 26. So, if no deal is mentioned at that time, it would seem that the much buzzed-about deal is not to be.
