Wholesale Changes at Flaunt Magazine

There’s a new tandem installed at the top of Flaunt magazine, ready to take the handsome LA-based publication to greater heights. Five-year company vet Matthew Bedard, fresh from setting up the publication’s Paris division, is now editorial director, while president Erica Cornwall joined the company in July. Together, they are overseeing not just editorial but also advertising, integrated media, events and special collaborations.

“I began my career working for Danielle Steel, had positions at Universal Pictures Marketing and Full Picture, then was vp at Starworks Group,” Cornwall tells FishbowlLA. “Last October, I founded a company called Revel Collective and remain responsible for branding, curation, producing and development for clients like The Art of Elysium and Alain Mikli. I also will remain the entertainment editor for Wonderland, Man About Town and Rollercoaster magazines.”

A few weeks ago, the position of Flaunt executive editor was dissolved, with title holder Maxwell Williams leaving the magazine as well. In his place, Cornwall and Bedard are looking to hire a pair of editors based separately in LA and New York. (Flaunt co-founders Luis Barajas and Jim Turner remain on board as, respectively, editor-in-chief and creative director.)

“We’re taking our time to make sure the candidates are the right fit,” she explains. “We want people who are fully engrossed in the fine art, music, fashion, beauty and philanthropic worlds nationally and internationally.”

Meanwhile, New York-based Flaunt style director Long Nguyem will soon begin bringing on board contributors for the national and global editions of the publication. “We will be shortly announcing our new offices on the east coast as well as several multi-city art collaborations, events and new initiatives,” Cornwall promises.

Currently on newsstands is Flaunt’s men’s fall fashion September issue, to be followed in October by a women’s fall fashion issue. Then, in December, it will be time for a 14th-year anniversary issue and special scelebration.
