Bonnier Corp.’s Parenting Group today announced the launch of Getting Fresh with Jamie, a new column in Parenting magazine contributed by best-selling cookbook author, chef, TV personality and school nutrition advocate Jamie Oliver.
Each month, Oliver will provide parenting early years and parenting school years readers with easy, nutritious family dinner recipes and menu ideas, and advice on how to instill good eating habits in kids at an early age, preparing them for a life-long love of fresh, healthy foods.
“As a dad of four, Jamie understands what our readers need to put a nutritious meal on the table for their families each night – and as a nutrition advocate, his ideas for transforming the way kids eat in school will inspire our readers to take action,” said Ana Connery, editorial director, print content, strategy and design at The Parenting Group. “We couldn’t ask for a better partner as Parenting helps families take a more active role in supporting the campaign for healthy eating – at school and at home.”
Oliver will also join forces with Parenting’s Mom Congress on Education and Learning, the magazine’s initiative to celebrate and connect parents advocating for better schools (www.parenting.com/momcongress).
“Mums and Dads are the ones who have the power not only to feed their kids better at home, but to change what the schools and big companies are offering, too,” Oliver said. “I am so excited to be writing for Parenting and having a direct line to the parents who want to cook for themselves and their families.”
