Cute Dogs = Cable Ratings Nirvana

The world of business television is an interesting one. Sometimes things don’t play out the way you expect them to. A case in point: When the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show appears on CNBC for the first time, it turns out to be the highest rated show the network’s aired in the past five years. Then again, dogs are irresistable: When the Puppy Bowl aired on Super Bowl weekend, it drew a respectable 8 million viewers on Super Sunday.
