Veteran Sacramento Journalist Takes Over as CraveOnline Executive Editor

Although Jason Kobely was most recently the news director for KNSI AM 1450/FM 103.3 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, he has spent most of his career working in Sacramento. He was a supervising Web producer at KXTV News 10 and an anchor-editor with NewsTalk 1530 KFBK AM.

Kobely is now switching gears quite dramatically via the position of executive editor for Evolve Media Corp.’s craveonline.com. The mid-city headquartered lifestyle and entertainment destination attracted more than 30 million unique visitors last month according to comScore. From this morning’s announcement:

“I am so excited and proud to be a part of this talented, energetic and vibrant collective of writers and editors,” said Kobely. “Engaging with my new team to deliver the worlds of entertainment, music, gaming, sports and male lifestyle to the Crave community—all with Crave’s distinctive voice—is a thrilling opportunity.”

Among those reporting to Kobely will be editors William Bibbiani (film), Blair Marnell (TV), Andy Hunsaker (comics), Johnny Firecloud (music), Erik Norris (gaming), Josh Helmuth (sports) and John Scott Lewinski (lifestyle).
