Corporation For Public Broadcasting To Fund Seven Multimedia Journalism Centers

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) is pledging $10.5 million to funding seven local journalism centers where CPB and other news stations can pool resources and hire new staff to gather and distribute news about one local issue, the CPB announced today via press release.

Local news stations will partner with the CPB to create a newsroom focused on one relevant issue. They’ll create in-depth multimedia journalism that will then be made available to air nationally on public television, public radio, and/or online.
