Subject: [SPDmembers] A message from the SPD Board of Directors

Dear Fellow Member,

As you know, Bride Whelan, former Executive Director of The Society of Publication Designers, was convicted last August of second-degree grand larceny for stealing more than $150,000 from SPD.

On Friday, February, 16, 2007, Ms. Whelan was sentenced to six months in jail and turned herself in to the authorities on February 23rd to begin serving her time. She will be required to make restitution of $100,000.00 and faces up to five years of probation.

We want to thank you again for your continued support through this difficult time. The strength of SPD will always be its membership.

Respectfully yours,
The Board of Directors
