Bloomberg Monitors Its Employees

Michael Bloomberg GThe great (okay, maybe average) Rockwell once said that he always felt like someone was watching him. At Bloomberg, that someone is likely Michael Bloomberg.

According to WWD, since Bloomberg’s return to the company, it has reinstated its policy of closely monitoring staffers:

The system allows everyone in the company to see when their coworkers arrived at work, giving the exact time they swiped their card upon entry. The arrival times are included in intercompany e-mails, according to an insider at Bloomberg, who called the practice a source of paranoia.

The monitoring program had been canceled under former CEO Dan Doctoroff, but he got the boot when Bloomberg came back. With Bloomberg once again in a leadership role, it’s back to watching staffers’ every move. Sounds like fun!
