There’s really nothing like celebrating the Fourth of July in the capital, seeing fireworks set off against the iconic silhouettes of the Capitol Building and the Washington Monument. This Independence Day will mark the 35th year PBS broadcast A Capitol Fourth has been doing its part to light up the sky and put on a show for the DC flag-waving crowds.
Singer Barry Manilow will open and close this year, ending, appropriately enough, with a patriotic medley.
