TPM Tirade Tops Off Epic Tuesday Weiner Media Roast

It doesn’t seem possible, even by the slippery standards of NYC political scandals. On a day that began with a New York Daily News Weiner intern expose, continued with a Howard Stern-Sydney Leathers shock interview and ended with a defiant Anthony Weiner campaign video, there is still more. The coup de (dis)grace, as it were, delivered by Talking Points Memo national affairs writer Hunter Walker.

Weiner’s director of communications Barbara Morgan went off the media deep end during her conversation with Walker, calling the author of that aforementioned NYDN expose every name in the book. She quickly apologized and told The Observer‘s Jill Colvin she thought that part of the conversation was off the record. But TPM editor-publisher Josh Marshall is backing up Walker all the way and, regardless, it would seem that Weiner’s campaign is now really cooked. From Walker’s bombshell report:

“I’m dealing with like stupid f*cking interns who make it on to the cover of the Daily News even though they signed NDAs and/or they proceeded to trash me,” Morgan told TPM, referring to a non-disclosure agreement. “And by the way, I tried to fire her, but she begged to come back and I gave her a second chance.”

Morgan went on to suggest Nuzzi would be unable to get a job in New York City’s political scene as a result of her actions. “F*cking slutbag. Nice f*cking glamour shot on the cover of the Daily News. Man, see if you ever get a job in this town again,” said Morgan.

We hate to say it, but there’s still an hour left in this ET Tuesday. That is to say, the chances of a naked man appearing on the ledge of a certain campaign headquarters before midnight are around 60 minutes-to-one.
