Andrea Mitchell: Red Carpet-Ready Workaholic

US News & World Report‘s Washington Whispers column profiled NBC’s “ageless whirlwind” Andrea Mitchell, and that lady who just doesn’t stop working, ever. She starts many mornings at 7 and often appears on five shows, her hour-long Andrea Mitchell Reports included, before packing it up for the day at 9 p.m.

Columnist Paul Bedard wants to know: “How, at 64, does she outrun competitors and look like she’s just arrived for her Oscar red carpet glamor walk?” (Let’s not get carried away here…)

Apparently, she’s a gym freak. And, she says, “when she’s not on the air, she’s with her trainer at 7 a.m.” She admits, though, that she hates exercising. Except she loves playing tennis with her 85-year-old husband, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan. Must be an exciting tennis game.

Bedard delves into her diet. She has a banana and espresso for breakfast, salad for lunch, and meat-free dinner. She satisfies her “big sweet tooth” with red peanut M&M’s.

Mitchell: everyday woman, who works like a dog, exercises like a fiend, eats a perfect diet, and always looks ready for a walk on the Oscar red carpet.
