Universal Pictures is using augmented reality to put you at the center of your own horror movie through a new promotion for the upcoming horror film Candyman, directed by Nia DaCosta and produced by Jordan Peele, who both co-wrote the film with Win Rosenfeld.
The web app, developed by agency Powster, prompts users to say the name “Candyman” five times as they look into a mirror-like camera view of their own face. As they do so, animated bees begin to swirl around the their heads and creepy three-dimensional graphics gradually consume the screen.
