Kevin Butler Returns to PlayStation for New Campaign Launch

'Long Live Play' slogan trumps career in carpeting

Well that didn’t take long. Within a week of quitting his fictional job at PlayStation for an equally fictional job at Economy Flooring, Kevin Butler has returned to help launch the Sony game console’s new “Long Live Play” marketing campaign. “What better way to transition than with a visit from Kevin Butler, back from his four-day retirement with a special message,” writes (real) Sony vp Scott Steinberg on the PlayStation blog. “Beginning today you’ll find ‘Long Live Play’ rolling out on some of your favorite websites, TV networks and retailers as well as across numerous social networking outlets.” We were hoping to milk a few more laughs out of Butler’s sudden career shift, but hey, at least we got to see him make his patented “no-look flaming crossbow shot.” I bet they frowned on such behavior at the laminate factory.
