'Jersey Shore' Gets Wilde in Theater Company's Ads

It's horrifying enough that Jersey Shore's jabronis turned authors have invaded the world of literature (sure, I'm using that term loosely), but now they're popping up on the Great White Way? Yes and no. The Roundabout Theatre Company has launched a series of online videos where a couple of straight-faced actors recite dialogue from the MTV hit in the style of Oscar Wilde, to promote their current Broadway show, Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. Imagine witticisms like "That's what she said" delivered with true Oscar Wilde flourish. Cue raised eyebrows and rakish grins. It's not a new concept, but it's done well here. If more theaters loosened their ascots and tried advertising like this, maybe they'd fill the house. Snooki probably still wouldn't show up.
