French Anti-Racism PSA Uses Deepfake Tech to Show Many Faces of Prejudice

Racism has many faces—and it stems from ignorance and fear, according to a new PSA for the International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism (Ligue Internationale Contre le Racisme et l’Antisémitisme, or LICRA, in French).

The film, by Publicis Conseil, explores how racism evolves from “the fear of the other” and how racists project that inner fear and prejudice onto people who look different to them.

With racist attacks on the rise, according to LICRA, the ad aims to raise awareness of how racism is seeded and spread throughout society by incorrect assumptions about “others” that become hate.
