One of the advertising industry’s most coveted honors, the Cannes Lions Titanium Grand Prix, has been awarded to a powerful and innovative U.K. campaign against knife violence.

“Long Live the Prince,” created by London agency Engine for the Kiyan Prince Foundation and EA Sports, created a digital persona for Kiyan Prince, a rising soccer talent who was fatally stabbed outside his school in 2006.

The campaign, which used images of Prince to imagine what he would have looked like if he had grown to adulthood and achieved his dream of playing professionally—then made him available for players to add to their custom teams in EA’s FIFA 2021 video game—won top honors in Cannes’ Titanium Lions, which honor innovative marketing ideas that transcend traditional awards categories.
