Butler, Shine & Stern has landed advertising duties for cable television network American Movie Classics and Discreet Software.

The Sausalito, Calif., agency was awarded both accounts after quiet reviews. The shop would not comment on billings, but sources said each is worth roughly $5 million.

“We’ve definitely been picking up some interesting things,” agency partner and creative director John Butler said. “It’s a far cry more interesting than working on something like blank-dot-com. [We like] working for brands that are established and have a certain following.”
