NEW YORK Wieden + Kennedy here has promoted Derek Barnes and Paul Renner to co-creative directors from associate creative directors.

Working as a team, they are best known for their contributions to ESPN’s long-running “This is SportsCenter” campaign. Their most recent World Cup-themed work on the account featured voiceovers by the members of U2.

The pair has also shaped the cable network’s Monday Night Football campaign.

Both report to co-executive creative directors Kevin Proudfoot and Todd Waterbury.

Proudfoot said, “This promotion was a natural next step for Derek and Paul, and certainly well deserved based on their contributions to the ESPN brand.
