White & Partners Recruits D.C. Insider

ATLANTA Jose Fuentes, who has held communications posts on Capitol Hill, has joined White & Partners as director of consumer public relations, the agency said.

Fuentes replaces Mike Smith, who was with the Herndon, Va., independent shop for two years. Smith left to take a similar position with another agency, said Matt White, CEO of White & Partners.

Most recently, Fuentes was director of press relations for the United States Agency for International Development. Before that, he was deputy director of advance preparations for Vice President Dick Cheney.

The agency recruited Fuentes as part of its strategy to claim more business from the federal government, White said.

“We’ve got a good guy for that on board now,” White said.

Fuentes, 30, will supervise a staff of six at White & Partners.
