CHICAGO Western Union is set to award creative duties on its $15 million advertising account to Leo Burnett here after a review, sources said.

The Publicis Groupe agency beat Interpublic Group’s Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis, Omnicom Group’s TBWA\Chiat\Day in San Francisco and Publicis-backed Bartle Bogle Hegarty in New York for the account. The incumbent, WPP Group’s J. Walter Thompson in Chicago, did not participate. Consultant Now Inc. of Southport, Conn., conducted the review.

JWT’s media sibling, Mindshare, will continue to handle the client’s media duties, and Connect@JWT will continue to be responsible for digital and direct capabilities, sources said.
