Are two prominent members of Boston’s advertising community preparing to abandon their day jobs for the highs and lows of the nightly weather report?

Probably not, but Arnold svp Barbara Reilly and Theresa McLaughlin, evp, marketing at agency client Citizens Bank, did make a March 1 appearance as weathercasters on WLVI-TV, Boston’s Channel 56, a WB Network affiliate.

The pair won the TV opportunity during the Boston Idea Group’s annual auction last year. Both serve on the professional association’s board of directors.

Reilly and McLaughlin started bidding separately until Arnold president Fran Kelly sug gested they team up. Arnold declined to disclose the amount of the winning bid.

The pair received about an hour’s training with the staff meteo rologists, who showed them how to navigate the high-tech maps and briefed them on the upcoming weekend’s forecast.

“I had trouble getting the maps straight and [knowing] where to look,” McLaughlin laughed, adding that, otherwise, “We had a great time doing it.”
