Venables Names Palisades Media Buyer

SAN FRANCISCO — Upstart agency Venables, Bell & Partners on Tuesday named Palisades Media Group, Inc. of Los Angeles their media buyer, executives at the two agencies confirmed.

PMG will handle all media buying for the agency, including broadcast, cable, print, outdoor and new media. Palisades’ first task is to coordinate media buying for Barclays Global Investors/iShares. The team of Venables and Eleven won the business last week (Adweek, March 11).

“PMG made an instant impression with us,” said Bob Molineaux, agency partner and cofounder. “In fact, their ability to bring strategic thinking and smart media buying to our clients goes beyond what we have experienced in the past.”

“It’s exciting that one of the top creative teams in the advertising community has chosen us to represent their clients,” added Roger Schaffner, president of Palisades Media Group. “We feel we have considerable experience to offer in today’s highly competitive environment.”

Venables also works with Microsoft’s UltimateTV and HBO Home Video. The shop was formed last year when Paul Venables and Greg Bell resigned as creative directors at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners to open their own shop.
