LOS ANGELES Advertising agency URI has been selected to handle marketing for the China National Tourist Office of Southern California, the agency said.

The Beverly Hills, Calif., shop won the account without a review. This is the first time the CNTO’s office here has worked with an agency.

URI, a shop that specializes in cross-cultural accounts, is charged with helping the CNTO promote tourism from the U.S. and Latin America to the People’s Republic of China. The work, targeting business and consumer audiences, will include creative and media, as well as promotions and media relations.
