SYDNEY – Toys ‘R’ Us has appointed Omon to handle its Australian launch and ongoing advertising. The U.S. toy giant is said to be planning to spend $3.5 million between its expected launch in September and Christmas. Next year, the retailer could spend more than $7 million to take on Coles-Myer’s new toy shop venture, Toy Warehouse. Omon bested six other agencies for the business, reportedly including J. Walter Thompson, DDB Needham, George Patterson, Maher & Holmes, Foster Nunn Loveder and SASS.
