The Show Me State’s 14-year-old slogan, “Wake up to Missouri,” is being put to sleep, at least in advertising for the general public.
The Missouri Department of Tourism last week unveiled a new slogan, “Where the rivers run,” and a new logo that turns the “ss” in the middle of the word “Missouri” into a river, accompanied by a rising sun.
The new positioning was created by Kansas City, Mo., agency Muller + Co., based on research conducted outside the state.
