Lead Deere agency Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, was handed the task of moving products that were gathering dust in warehouses, items that might not meet everyone’s definition of necessary. Stuff like green and yellow touch-up sticks or chrome hubcabs for the mower’s wheels.

Taking a cue from fantasy-inducing clothing catalogs, FCB’s creative team churned out copy that makes the products seem downright glorious.
