TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York created a design- oriented campaign for Absolut’s latest vodka, Absolut Apeach, which consists of a TV spot and print ad that broke last week. Kaleidoscopic peaches whirl around a bottle to the tune of an original rock track “Surrender” in the 15-second spot. Animation was done by Swedish company FilmTecknarna, best known for Franz Ferdinand’s “Take Me Out” music video. The print ad shows slices adorning a bottle with the copy, “Surrender to APeach.” Peach drinks “tend to have a sorority-girl image,” says cd Patrick O’Neill, who worked on the ads before leaving the shop in April. “This flavor is a more sophisticated peach option.” Creatives who worked on the ads include ecd Gerry Graf, copywriters Isaac Silvergate and Ashley Billings, and art directors Megan Williams, Jeff Anderson and Amy Ferguson. A print campaign highlighting all Absolut flavors is due out June 1.
