St. Paul Companies Moves Account to Fallon

CHICAGO — The St. Paul Companies has reassigned its ad account to Fallon following an informal review, the agency said.

Spending on the account, formerly at Campell Mithun in Minneapolis, has varied in the last couple years. The St. Paul, Minn., company spent an estimated $35 million in 2000 but under $10 million last year, and less than $5 million through July this year, according to CMR. St. Paul owns Nuveen Investments, also a Fallon client.

After a string of management changes, which included naming Jay Fishman CEO a year ago, Fallon’s initial assignment will be to reintroduce the company to insurance agents.

Campbell Mithun’s work for St. Paul carried the tagline “Without question.” A television spot from last year depicted a man walking in a desert with a boat when a flash flood rushed in, implying St. Paul companies helped people prepare for emergencies.
