Schering-Plough HealthCare Cuts to Three

LOS ANGELES — Drugmaker Schering-Plough Corp.’s consumer-products business unit, Schering-Plough HealthCare Products, has cut the list of agencies in its $80 million broadcast buying review to three shops, according to sources.

Five shops had been contending before the cut, including Creative Media, Zenith Media, Horizon Media and Media Planning, all New York, plus one other undisclosed agency. It is unclear which shops advanced.

Finalists will be briefed the week of June 11 and final presentations are scheduled for next month. Incumbent was TN Media, New York. Consultancy Achenbaum Bogda Associates in New York is handling the review for the client.

HealthCare Products includes footcare items marketer Dr. Scholl’s and several suncare lines, including Coppertone and Bain de Solei, and several over-the-counter drug brands, including Afrin and Tinactin.
