Saunders-Ream Absorbs Maverick

DALLAS Maverick Advertising will become part of Saunders-Ream Advertising & Marketing, creating a combined agency with more than $25 million in annual billings, the shops said.

Maverick, a Fort Worth, Texas-based, full-service independent specializing in travel, tourism and hospitality accounts, will operate as the hospitality division of Saunders-Ream, the agencies said. The Maverick name will no longer be used.

The new unit will provide communications, advertising and media planning services as well as promotion, the shops said. Maverick president John Arend will continue to run the division, he said.

Dallas-based independent Saunders-Ream also has offices in San Francisco and Santa Fe, N.M.

“With the economy rebounding, we wanted to be strategically poised to capture all of the new business opportunities coming our way,” said Saunders-Ream president Fred Ream. “With Maverick, we will infuse our agency with their fresh spirit and innovative approach to new business, while broadening our capabilities in the areas of public relations and marketing communications.”

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1976, Saunders-Ream has two specialized divisions, Food For Thought, a food-marketing agency and Saunders-Ream Travel, Hospitality & Tourism.
