Ross Roy Streamlines, Hires BBDO’s Copacia

NEW YORK – In a move designed to make Ross Roy easier for the market to understand, and to break down unnecessary walls inside the company, chairman Peter Mills said Friday the company will henceforth be called Ross Roy Communications. In making the change, not only does the Ross Roy Group holding company name go away, but also the names of separate units such as Ross Roy Advertising, Ross Roy Retail, Ross Roy Franchise, Ross Roy Direct and Ross Roy Productions. Mills explained that the company’s structure needed to be simplified, and separate profit centers abolished for all concerned. Richard Ward, formerly president of Ross Roy Communications, becomes vice chairman of the new company. Mills also said Timothy Copacia, formerly senior vice president, BBDO/Detroit-management supervisor on Dodge, has joined Ross Roy as executive vice president, director of account services on the Chrysler account. Mills is also close to naming a creative director to succeed Jack Frakes.
