Richards Creates Magazine Unit

DALLAS Media specialist Leslie Tucker will head a new consumer magazine unit within The Richards Group, the agency said Wednesday.

The unit is a response to an increasingly fragmented market that can often be reached more effectively through magazines, agency founder Stan Richards said.

“As audiences continue to fragment, the use of magazines as part of the strategy to connect with consumers becomes more and more critical,” Richards said. “We are seizing this opportunity.”

Tucker, brand media planner, has worked at the independent Dallas agency for nine years.

“She is highly respected by our clients, the magazine industry and her fellow employees,” said Larry Spiegel, media director and principal.

Richards’ major clients include The Home Depot, Motel 6, Chick-fil-A and Fruit of the Loom. Total billings for the agency were $850 million in 2003.
