National TV: SLOW
Traditional summer advertisers have been joined in 3rd quarter by pharmaceuticals, packaged goods and retail. ABC is seen finishing its makegoods, starting 4th quarter clean.

Net Cable: HOLDING
Though some nets have completed upfront business, the overall cable market is crawling to a close, expected after July 4. Kid nets Nickelodeon, Cartoon post CPM and dollar growth.

More than $640 million in political advertising is expected to be spent in the second half of the year. Auto and entertainment categories remain active players.

Ads placed well in advance of airdates are tightening inventory into July and August. Automakers Chrysler and Lincoln-Mercury are active. Auto aftermarket is also healthy.

Magazines: MOVING
Mirroring the increased interest in adventure travel, outdoor titles are seeing an influx of travel ads, as well as an uptick from the sporting apparel and equipment categories.
