The Powers Agency’s new e-business division, ePowers, has signed its first client, Scientific American.

The new division will provide e-business consulting, technology services and Web design for the Cincinnati shop’s clients. The agency had been providing interactive services as needed, but ePowers is expected to increase the shop’s technical capabilities.

“It’s a primary care physician kind of role,” said Charlie Powers, the agency’s president. “We prescribe what is needed and bring in the specialists.”

Overseeing the unit is Mark Powers, Charlie’s son.
