News Service Taps Mullen’s PR Division Following A Review

Mullen’s public relations group last week won the account of NewsEdge Corp. after a review.
Based in Burlington, Mass., NewsEdge was formed last month through the merger of rivals Individual Inc. and Desktop Data. The two competed in the customized news business–delivering updates via fax and email–for nearly a decade. The combined entity claims to have nearly one million subscribers worldwide.
Schwartz Communications in Waltham, Mass., was Individual’s public relations agency; Lois Paul & Partners in Burlington, Mass., serviced Desktop Data. Both competed for the NewsEdge account.
Peter Greer, co-director of Wenham, Mass.-based Mullen’s public relations division, will oversee the NewsEdge account. –Sarah Jones
