McCann-Erickson’s New York office promoted five senior vice presidents to group creative director from senior creative director: Gib Marquardt and Paul Behnen, who work on Lucent Technologies; BJ Kaplan and Doug Welch, who collaborate on advertising for Reckitt & Colman products; and Kai Sawatzke, who heads the L’Oreal hair care and cosmetics account.
Bates USA, New York, promoted five executives: associate creative director Chris Harden was elevated to senior vice president from vice president; senior art director Mark Kelly added vice president to his title; management representative Julie Heaven moved up to senior vice president from vice president; and Julika Englert and Ajay Nair advanced to vice president, account supervisor.
Bozell Worldwide, New York, elected Joanne Conforti to its board of directors and named her executive vice president, human resources and diversity management. She will continue to oversee global human resources and will now direct all diversity efforts at the agency.
Chris Van Oosterhout joined DiNoto Lee, New York, as associate creative director. A former senior creative director at McCann-Erickson, New York, he reunites with agency principal Greg DiNoto, with whom he worked at Deutsch.
The Lord Group, New York, named Bill McCaffrey senior vice president, associate director, strategic planning, and Chris Becker senior vice president, group account director. McCaffrey most recently headed his own consultancy, William McCaffrey
Consumer Planning, while Becker was senior vice president, account director at Bozell in Costa Mesa, Calif.
Francine Edelman was promoted to the newly created position of managing director and executive vice president at Team South, a direct marketing unit of Omnicom Group. She now oversees the agency’s offices in New York and Atlanta. Joanna Kalliches advanced to senior vice president, creative director, also a newly created position.
Michael Pusateri, former vice president, interactive sales and marketing at Marriott International Hotels, will address the New York chapter of the American Association of Advertising Agencies at the Clio Festival reception and cocktail party on May 18 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York.
Steve Ridley has joined the London-based media firm Poster Publicity as senior vice president at its New York office. He was previously managing director at Outdoor Focus in London.

Distribution Group, New York. He had been director of client services.
The New Yorker named David Kahn associate publisher. He had served as publisher of Saveur for four years.
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden, New York, named Brian Craig vice president of marketing, a new position. He most recently held that title at AeroGroup International.
Shrewsbury’s Edward Newland Associates hired account coordinator Rachel Tidwell. She joined the firm from Comcast Cablevision, where she was an advertising account executive.
R&J Integrated Marketing Communications, Parsippany, named Scott Marioni an account manager. He will work with clients such as DataStudy, H.H. Scott and Ilford Imaging USA. Marioni most recently worked as an account executive at CN Communications in Rahway.
