A TEXAS Mark Geller has become vice president and group media director at GSD&M, Austin. Geller, formerly director of media services at Southwestern Bell Communications, will be responsible for planning and buying for Americorps, HelloNetwork.com, Pennzoil/Quaker State and Wal-Mart. Debbie Aten has joined Rives Carlberg, Houston, as account supervisor for Compaq. Aten previously served in the same capacity at Momentum Advertising. Jennifer Allison, formerly with Ogilvy & Mather, was named associate media director. Julie Syers, previously with Reliant Energy/HL&P, has come aboard as assistant media buyer for KFC and Rheem. Account executive Michele Smith and account coordinator Pamela Cissna were assigned to the public relations department. John Kaiser was hired as proofreader from his previous position as editor and translator at The Menil Collection. Carrie Hill, formerly with Augusta Foods, has joined the agency as logistic resources manager. The shop has promoted media director Heidi Askew to vice president and Peggy Floyd Smith to vice president and resources director. Victoria Bartlett was appointed logistic resources supervisor, and Sandy Kirk was designated media buyer. Maverick Advertising & Public Relations, Fort Worth, has hired Kyra Neff as production manager. Neff was most recently a sales associate with Poka Lambro Wireless. Dallas-based ICL has appointed Stan Rippel marketing principal of its e-business services. Debbie Forester has moved to Regian &Wilson/Grey Advertising, Fort Worth, as controller. Forester was previously vice president of finance and human resources manager at BA Advertising, Dallas. Michael McBride has been employed by the agency as a production manager. McBride is a former senior traffic manager at DDB Dallas. POV Editing and Visual Effects, Houston, has welcomed Donna Wharry as graphic designer. SiteStuff.com, Austin, has appointed Tracy Ott Wallingford vice president of marketing. She was formerly director of marketing programs for Trilogy Software. Joyce Varughese has joined Patrick Henry Creative Promotions, Houston, as marketing and promotions coordinator. Rhodes Stafford Wines Creative, Dallas, has added Adrianne Fenimore as administrative assistant and Jan Scoggin as print production manager. Fenimore is a recent graduate of Richland College.
