Monster tops mimc awards took home the company of the year prize at the Massachusetts Interactive Media Council’s fourth annual Interactive Leadership Awards. The Maynard, Mass., job search engine was chosen based on its position as the leading global online career network.

About 350 people attended the event, which was held Wednesday at the Westin Hotel Copley Place in Boston.

Other winners were Ralph Folz, CEO of Molecular, Watertown, Mass., named CEO of the year; Nat Dunn, general manager of Westlake Internet Training, Cambridge, Mass., for contribution to society; Andy Fox, chairman of iConverse, Waltham, Mass, entrepreneur of the year; TechTarget, Needham, Mass., hottest startup.

Karl Ruping, founder of Inc. Tank, Cambridge, Mass., was given the unsung heroes award; and Bob Davis, founder of Lycos, Waltham, Mass., now part of Spanish company Terra Lycos, was honored for lifetime achievement.

Shirley Singleton, CEO of Edgewater Technologies, Wakefield, Mass., took home the leader of the year award for her response to the Dec. 26, 2000, workplace tragedy in which an employee fatally shot seven other employees.
