Coca-Cola last week said it has created a department to coordinate global marketing, new product development and expansion plans. Mary Minnick, 45, president of the company’s Asian operations, will helm the unit. Coke’s chief marketing officer, Chuck Fruit, and chief research and development officer, Danny Strickland, now report to Minnick. WPP’s Berlin Cameron/Red Cell in New York handles Coke Classic in the U.S. Other roster shops include WPP’s Ogilvy & Mather and IPG’s Foote Cone & Belding.
