Miller Time At Suffolk U.

One of the masters of political and corporate marketing strategy is scheduled
to be in Boston next month. Scott Miller, who routinely advises the heads of Coca-Cola and Microsoft, will talk about what he calls “Insurgent Marketing” and spell out some of the new rules of the marketing game.
A frequent guest lecturer, Miller operates a small consultancy in Atlanta called the Core Strategy Group. The former copywriter got his start in business at Humphrey Browning MacDougall in Boston before moving to New York in the mid-70s.
After advancing to creative director at McCann-Erickson USA, Miller and David Sawyer left that agency to form Sawyer Miller Group, a shop (now Bozell Sawyer Miller Group) that specialized in both advocacy and political strategizing.
In addition to corporations, Miller’s clients have included numerous congressional candidates and governors of West Virginia, North Carolina, Texas and Kentucky. Miller also advised the presidential campaigns of U.S. Senators John Glenn, Gary Hart, Paul Tsongas and Ross Perot.
Tickets for the Miller talk, hosted by Suffolk University, are available by calling Priscilla Rosati at (617) 573-8651.
