McDonald’s Names New President of Brands Division

NEW YORK — McDonald’s Monday named Russ Smyth as president of its partner brands division. He will be responsible for overseeing such restaurant concepts as Boston Market, Donatos Pizzeria, Aroma Cafe, Chipotle Mexican Grill and Pret A Manger.

“These outstanding restaurant concepts are growing, and have the potential to make a meaningful contribution to McDonald’s earnings growth,” said Smyth.

Most recently, Smyth served as senior vice president, International Relationship Partner for Southeast and Central Asia, where he was responsible for managing all McDonald’s operations in Southeast and Central Asia. He replaces Jeff Kindler, who resigned to work for Pfizer.
