McDonald's Creates Global Marketing Czar

CHICAGO — McDonald’s Corp. named branding consultant Larry Light its executive vice president and global chief marketing officer, a new position, the company said.

Light, the founding president of ceo of Arcature, a brand consulting firm, will report to McDonald’s CEO Jack Greenberg. Light will oversee all global marketing strategy and brand development for the Oak Brook, Ill. fast food chain.

McDonald’s launched a search for the job in June.

Prior to working at Arcature, Light was chairman and CEO of the international division of Bates Advertising, where he served on the worldwide board.
