ATLANTA Blimpie is launching a $12 million broadcast campaign today featuring “Blimpie Guy,” a man dressed as a giant sub sandwich, as its new spokesman, the company said.
The character was introduced last year during a product placement on the popular HBO program Sex and the City.
“Blimpie Guy is a fun-loving, light-hearted character who tells our Blimpie story in a warm, humorous and engaging style by challenging the perceptions created by our key national competitors,” said Mark Mears, chief marketing officer for the Atlanta-based company.
