Littlefield Adds 2 Vice Presidents

Scanlan, McAlevey Bolster Creative, Media Ranks at Tulsa Agency
DALLAS–Littlefield Marketing & Advertising has installed two vice presidents with prominent agency and client backgrounds to ramp up the credentials of its Tulsa, Okla., operation.
Creative director Neil Scanlan, formerly of Temerlin McClain in Irving, Texas, joins St. Louis media veteran Tom McAlevey to lead the creative and media departments, respectively, at Littlefield.
Scanlan and McAlevey will also be heavily involved in new business activities, according to agency president David Littlefield. Despite being the state’s third-largest agency, Littlefield has not turned up in high-profile account reviews based in Tulsa, including Citgo Petroleum. The shop was initially overlooked by Thrifty Car Rental when that Tulsa company went shopping, but has since been invited to submit capabilities.
“That’s exactly why I went after some strong credentials in media and creative,” said Littlefield.
Scanlan spent the past year working with the Hilton Head Island, N.C., office of Anderson Communications Group, which recently moved its headquarters to Charlotte, N.C. He primarily was responsible for resort and aviation assignments as executive vice president and creative director at ACG. Scanlan had branched out into freelance work over the last several months.
“[I] missed being in the mainstream of advertising, and I missed this part of the country,” said Scanlan, who served as creative director on the American Airlines leisure and Terminix accounts at Temerlin when he left in July 1997.
Scanlan will oversee a staff that includes Tom and Caroline Wirt and Michael Crutchfield, a trio that led the Littlefield creative department following the departure of vice president and creative director Doug Johnston.
McAlevey, most recently a vice president at startup Internet audio specialist Olympia Networks in St. Louis, spent several years as a media executive with Advanswers Media/Programming in St. Louis and DDB Needham Chicago. His client-side experience includes media director posts at Brown & William-son Tobacco and Humana.
