Levitt & Sons Engages Blattner Brunner

BOSTON Blattner Brunner has been hired by residential community development company Levitt & Sons for creative and media chores on its $5 million-plus ad account following a review.

The Atlanta office of the independent agency will handle the business and new work is slated to break in early 2008. Print, outdoor, radio, direct and digital efforts are all on tap, targeting consumers 55 and older and families in the market for “step-up” homes.

Levitt is based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the incumbent was VSM in Winter Park, Fla., which retains local marketing chores in Florida. The review contenders were not disclosed.

Kathi James, client svp, marketing, noted Blattner Brunner’s “strong mix of strategy and creative” in confirming the shop’s selection.

Agency CEO Michael Brunner said the account is a good fit because “the baby boomer audience is one we know well.”

Blatter Brunner is based in Pittsburgh, and also has an office in Washington, D.C. It claims billings near $200 million and other clients include AARP, Club Cadet, Dow Chemical, GlaxoSmithKline and Zippo. The agency recently introduced a high-profile national campaign for Zippo lighters.
