Kaplan Thaler Wins $80 Mil. Celebrex

NEW YORK Pfizer has selected Publicis Groupe’s Kaplan Thaler Group to handle creative duties for its Celebrex pain relief brand, the client has confirmed. Billings are estimated at $80 million.

The decision came after a three-month review in which the finalists were Havas’ Arnold and Kaplan Thaler, both in New York. Kaplan Thaler in July won creative duties on the client’s Zoloft brand after a review.

Dorothy Wetzel, vice president of U.S. consumer marketing for Pfizer, confirmed hiring Kaplan Thaler but declined further comment. Agency executives were unavailable for comment.

Aegis Group’s Carat in New York continues to handle media, which was not in play.
